Approximately 18 hours have passed
since Hurricane Sandy came roaring ashore near Atlantic City. Save
the Children continues to assess the damage but it’s clear that the storm was
devastating, particularly to communities in New Jersey and New York. We
conservatively estimate a need for $1 million for child care recovery and
other services, though that number may very well climb once our assessment
is complete.
