East Coast States Prepare for Hurricane Sandy
Potential "Superstorm" Hurricane Sandy is predicted to make landfall in the United States as early as Tuesday morning on the East Coast, with tropical force winds likely stretching from Virginia to Massachusetts, according to AccuWeather.com. All the States
in the storm's path have preparations in place and participate in the National
Donations Management Network®, powered by Aidmatrix, so that they can instantly
communicate with the public regarding items needed for the relief efforts. The
NDMN program is sponsored by FEMA, Accenture, UPS & the Aidmatrix
Foundation and it provides each State with a web portal and tools for managing
donation offers online, enabling the relief community to post their needs and
the State's office of emergency services to help connect the two.
