Aidmatrix COO/CTO Keith Thode is proud to have been included in the panel of judges for the the Windows 8 Apps for Social Good Contest. He, along with four others, selected three winners out of a total of 21 apps created for both Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8, chosen based on the impact and benefit that these apps can bring to the world. The winners of the contest were announced on April 2nd.

TechSoup Global teamed up with Microsoft to host the Windows 8 Apps for Social Good contest.

What is an “App for Social Good”? It’s an App (or other good or service) that is designed to benefit to the general public and doesn’t solely exist to provide the maximum possible return to shareholders. Some classic examples of social good are: clean water, literacy, food security, healthy and safe environment and digital inclusion, among many others.
