John "Jock" Menzies, the co-founder of the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) passed away in his home in Arnold, Maryland on Friday night. He was 69 years of age. Jock was a great friend and supporter of Aidmatrix, having served on the original Governor's Advisory Board, as well as through the partnership between Aidmatrix and ALAN. He "transformed the way the logistics community, relief organizations, and
individuals respond to natural disasters around the world," stated Mark B. Solomon of DCVelocity, in his article remembering Jock written this morning.
He will be greatly missed by everyone in the disaster relief community. We send our most sincere condolences to his family and the ALAN organization.
