Aidmatrix - India and Harley Davidson Owners’ Group - Delhi Chapter Join Hand to Distribute Relief Material



Harley Davidson Owners’ Group (HOGs) - Delhi Chapter, Pledge 14000 Kilometers (Km) to express solidarity and to support families impacted by the recent monsoon flooding in Uttarakhand, India.

“Every part of society needs to come together to rebuild Uttarakhand. This is not a short haul relief effort and needs to be sustained over time to get Uttarakhand back on its feet. This is the first ride to build towards our sustained commitment of the Harley Owners Group,” said Anil Arora, Asst Director, Capital Chapter, Harley Owners Group. He emphasise that we go out for rides but if our rides can help people get back to life then we think that the effort is fruitful. “It’s a great initiative by HOG in support of very noble cause and we will try to raise fund & as many as helping hands we can to help the affected people” added Sameer Malhotra, Treasurer, Capital Chapter, HOG.


Corporate Disaster Resource Network, an initiative of the Aidmatrix Foundation, would receive donation from HOGs for every Km they ride from July 07- Aug 15, 2013. The contribution would help distribute relief material including- packages include water, snacks, water purifying tablets, toiletries, and first aid supplies to help affected residents cope with the disaster's aftermath and also in the Rehabilitation work that would follow at the affected areas. The relief material would be distributed by Aidmatrix Foundation, in cooperation with local implementation partners.





On the occasion Mr. Kuldip Nar, Managing Director- Asia, Aidmatrix Foundation said “The Uttarakhand tragedy has shaken whole of India and this is the time when we should get together to extend helping hand to the affected people. Aidmatrix through its Corporate Disaster Resource Network (CDRN) has been engaged from the first week onwards and look forward to a long term commitment towards the people of Uttarakhand. We are focussing on Protection against Trafficking, Livelihoods, Education and other focused interventions with an integrated development approach.

“The scale of tragedy in Uttarakhand is not yet fully known and we hear more and more bad news every day. Besides a massive loss of life, many have lost everything that they owned. We are responding to some of their needs, join us to reach out to more families who desperately need food, water and shelter,” Meenakshi Batra, CEO, CAF India.

“For this noble cause 50 HOG has pledged for 14000 km from 07th July to 15th august, apart from the 50 HOG, 650 HOG from Capital Chapter will be associated with the cause through online or email till drive ends. The Chapter is lead by the HOG rider Caption Sanjay Bali, who was a part of the Rescue Operation Team of Indian Army helicopter in Uttarakhand, has also pledged to ride motorcycle for 2000 km” informed Mr. Siddharth Oberoi, Secretary, Capital Chapter, HOG.
