Aidmatrix partner, The Asia Foundation,
is helping the Tacloban community replenish its educational resources following
Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda. The Asia Foundation’s ‘Books for Asia’
program recently transported
more than 8,000 children's books to Tacloban in the Philippines.
"The book donation event,
arranged by the Foundation’s Books for Asia program with support from American
publishers and the Australian Government, donated over 8,702 children’s books
to 11 elementary schools in the typhoon-ravaged city." - Anna
Bantug-Herrera, The Asia Foundation’s associate director in the Washington,
D.C., office, in her recent Notes
from the Ground blog.
The Asia Foundation launched 9
locations on SCM4Good in just 6 short months in 2013. Aidmatrix's SCM4Good is
helping facilitate their Books for Asia program that moves “nearly one
million brand-new books into the hands of students, educators, and local and
national leaders in 19 countries annually," according to The Asia
Foundation.
