1 Year Later with Recover Joplin


As we come up on the 1-year anniversary of the Tornado that ripped through Joplin, MO, I have the privilege of being on-site, discussing with the Long Term Recovery teams, Joplin City Management, Recover Joplin and others how the residents affected can be served even more quickly and effectively.

Quality coordination and information accuracy in the efforts to care for our most vulnerable is a critical issue.  Joplin is a shining example in many ways - with Recover Joplin leveraging social media to make connections and distribute information immediately after the disaster to the extremely professionally run relief warehouse (supported by Aidmatrix technology).

As we come up on the 1 year anniversary of the devastating Tornado that has ripped what the locals term "The Scar" right through the city, there are thousands still displaced and even more who are still hurting from this historically forceful event.  Aidmatrix will be helping the many volunteers and those working for the government and recovery organizations in their efforts to quantify remaining needs and then have our broader national community come together and complete the formal efforts in supporting those still displaced and otherwise impacted by last year's tragedy.
