The Global Blood Fund Launches Blood Equipment Portal EqXchange
The Global Blood Fund, in partnership with The Foundation for America’s Blood Centers (FABC), launched Aidmatrix’ SCM4Giving
solutions in 2013 to assist with managing members’ donations of blood-related
equipment to developing countries. The program is called EqXchange and it is an
online donations management portal that provides a way for members to post
surplus equipment, such as centrifuges and plasmapheresis machines, that are
available for donation. It also enables blood centers in resource-scarce parts
of the world to post needs for specific equipment or expertise. Then the
program works to connect the two. Global Blood Fund also helps provide the
logistics services to transport the donations.
