On the Road Again – Visiting the
Arkansas Foodbank Team, Little Rock
Charlotte Medley, AgencyExpress
Program Specialist, 7/11/12
I had the pleasure of meeting the
Arkansas Foodbank team, one of the newest AgencyExpress partners, going live on
April 2, 2012. Dianne Williams, Chief Program Officer and her Agency Relations
team invited me to participate in their agency training on July 11th
attended by approximately 15 agencies – two representatives from
each.
AgencyExpress is a
web-based application specifically customized to work with your
Feeding-America-supported warehouse system.
Dianne facilitated the training;
walking through the process from login to placing an order and checking the
status in Order Management.
Lynne Gemmell, Program Services
Assistant, prepared various handouts including a User Guide for each attendee and
had carefully checked each participant’s login for the test/training
environment.
Connie Bledsoe, Agency Relations
Director, assisted the attendees with login and questions.
Kudos to Phyllis Haynes, CEO,
and her team for acquiring a grant providing a $100 food bank credit to each
agency completing training and submitting an order into the ‘live’
AgencyExpress environment. What a great incentive for approximately 290 members
with more than 300 sites throughout the 33 counties of central and southern
Arkansas served by Arkansas Food Bank.
The Arkansas Foodbank also serves as
a warehouse/’mixing center’ for five other regional food banks throughout
Arkansas, which benefit from state-wide grants. Food product is purchased from
the grants, and Little Rock warehouses it for the others until a pick up can
scheduled.
If you have the opportunity to visit
Little Rock or are just passing through, I encourage you to contact Phyllis
Haynes about a visit to the food bank. You will be warmly greeted and inspired
by their passion to end the hunger crisis in Arkansas.
